What’s with the name?

The medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter.

fit to be eaten (often used to contrast with unpalatable or poisonous examples)

It’s true some might argue that cooking is not a true form of alchemy but in my opinion if you can turn a list of ingredients into a new and different product, that is transforming matter.
